Australia for a month – How much money will I need?

Going to Oz very shortly for a month – first spending a few days with my brother in Sydney – then going to travel to Byron Bay and the Whitsundays for a couple of weeks, and then back to sydney to stay with my brother again for the remaining few days.
I’ll be staying in Hostels, using the Greyhound buses to get around, and I also want to squeeze in a tour around the Whitsundays maybe.
How much money will I need (£), I’ve got about £1,000….will that cover everything?

hey,i looked up a few pages and if you could get another couple of hundred together this should be plenty,the money you have would most likely be enough but better to be safe than sorry,have a great holiday,xx
