Schoolies info please?
February 16th, 2010 | by admin |So I’m going to schoolies this year
and since i havent been i got a few questions
1 – Two of the people in my group have gone before and were in year 12 last year and will be 19 when schoolies is on, will that be a problem? (they don’t seem to know much and aren’t very helpful, that’s why i am asking on here)
2 – A couple of people will be 16 and are only in year 11 this year, will that be a problem?
3 – What’s all this i hear about student ID and that??? if you don’t have one, can you not go or something?
4 – What schoolies do you think was best? (gold cost, byron bay etc)
5 – Would it be best to book through the schoolies site or to just book a hotel for that week?
6 – Where is some good places to stay?
I guess they are my biggest questions and concerns…
any other information would be appreciated….such as experiences, what i should and shouldn’t do etc
thanks heaps!
=)
just don’t drink booze
as all the schoolies are drop kicks who cant handle a beer and make a goose of them selves
if you feel the need to get blind drunk and make a fool of your self please go in the surf at night, if you don’t drown hopefully the sharks will get you
and it will be another ass clown the public wont have to deal with

1. They will be TOOLIES. Schoolies is for year 12 graduates only, not other folks, they just look creepy.
2. Again, they should be year 12 but they should be allowed, just underage so no entry to clubs or buying drinks, etc..
3. Schoolies will provide you with ID, you will also need your own ID such as your Ls or Ps
4. Gold Coast hands down. If you dont’ want the big schoolies party thing then just go somewhere on the coast.
5. I think you will have to book through Schoolies.com especially in GC, no one will just rent you a room. You will pay a hefty bond and quite dear rates. If you trash the place you will pay for it.
6. Depends on your budget, I personlly don’t like the Breakfree hotels.

If you are from NSW and looking for an awesome time without the drugs and drama of the Gold Coast, Port Macquarie is the way to go. It draws about 1000 people, which is enough to meet new people and have some big parties without the trouble of the gold coast. There is the option of private accommodation or (what I would recommend) is staying in the organised schoolies area.
1. If you go to Port Mac then you would be able to take the two 19 year olds without a problem, whereas that may be a problem on the Gold Coast.
2. The two in year 11 would also be able to slip under the radar if you really wanted them in. Also, while under 18’s can’t buy alcohol obviously, the organisation there isn’t strict about underage drinking like they are in Queensland, so long as you don’t draw too much attention to it by causing trouble.
3. If you stay with the organised schoolies group in Port Mac all you send is your name and a photo, so that restricted parties and things are closed off to the rest of the public. They do not display your name or school. It’s nothing to do with a student id, it’s just to keep unwanted people off the premises.
4. Of all the stories i’ve heard, my Port Mac experience was the best overall.
5. If you want to stay with the organised group (which is the whole point of going to Port Mac) go through their website. That way you have access to all their parties and facilities.
6. Basically see above.
Here is the link to their website: http://www.myspace.com/northcoastschoolies or contact Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park http://www.sundownerholidays.com as they host the event.
